Conveniently located 19 miles west of Asheville, NC, Rare Bird Farm is a 98 acre farm and cultural event space that can host gatherings of up to
200 people.
Once upon a time. Once in a lifetime. Two wild hearts meet and become complete. We didn’t have to travel through standing stones, we met each other right where we were. Now we are blessed to grow to the sky like a pair of ancient oaks, side by side. Our souls are bonded in this life and every life eternal. We fill each other’s cups and they runneth over. Perfect, lucky, rare, singular…the words flow into a river, ever flowing, ever changing. So let us pause time to celebrate with friends and family. It is our greatest honor to share this union with you. We will tie the knot amongst the trees and rocks. We will light a fire, feast and dance surrounded by the changing leaves and all our beloveds.

Welcome to the party friends and family. We expect the season and the spirits to be in our favor. The leaves and beautiful backdrop will set the color palette. Brown over black, cream over white. Green over blue. Burgundy over pink. Dress more towards autumn than spring. Dress up!!! It is Halloween, but we have a bit of a theme! Not necessarily costumes but heavily inspired by Bilbo Baggins 111th birthday, a heaping scoop of Outlander and the highlands, and/or the furs and leathers of the Northmen. Wools and linens, tweeds and plaids, solid bold autumns tones. Many layers or super simple and barefoot. Kilts, corduroy, vests, waist coats and hats. Flower crowns, bustling skirts, corsets, pinafores/aprons (good if you don’t want to be carrying a purse), flowy fabric, and capes. This is a bucolic setting so flat shoes are highly recommended. You can get a bit theatrical but please keep to the color pallet and inspiration for the photos. Not feeling hobbity? Try a different realm from middle earth. Be inspired by the earth herself. I swear if anyone comes as Gollum you have to be the ring bearer.
